CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

International Association of Healthcare PractitionersUpledger Institute InternationalCST is a gentle hands-on treatment that may provide relief from a variety of symptoms including headaches, neck pain and side effects of cancer treatment among many others.CST uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity. The focus of CST is a gentle placement of hands to assist release of the body’s connective tissue, or “fascia.” Fascia (Latin word for “band”) is a covering found throughout the body including organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, brain and spinal cord. This covering forms a body-wide connective network. CST is based on the idea that the body is interrelated at all levels.CST is thought to improve efficiency of biological processes through boosting inherent self-regulation, self-correction and self-healing. The therapy can be used successfully with children and adults.Conditions Craniosacral therapy (CST) can help:Chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, Migraine headache, Complex regional pain syndrome, Fascial adhesions, Multiple sclerosis, Neuralgia, Neurodegenerative diseases, Temporo-mandibular joint syndrome, Stroke, Post-concussion syndrome, Speech impairment, Epilepsy.

There's a great deal of attention placed on protocols that help protect your electromagnetic energetic circuit, guarding your vitality. It is of great importance this treatment only involves the application of north pole magnets on the body.Lava rocks, imported from Italy, are used in addition to magnets for the absorption of positive ions and toxic energy. For application onto the body, the lava rocks are smoothed for better results.

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)

Norton School of Lymphatic TherapyLymphatic Drainage Massage is a gentle manual lymphatic therapy technique. It is a great way to activate the lymphatic system. Compression Therapy available upon request.

Relaxation Massage

Massage has substantial health benefits. It can improve blood circulation and stimulate the body’s lymphatic system, which carries away waste products. It can help with insomnia, promote clarity of mind, and emotional balance.

Medical Massage

Medical massage care focuses on healing injuries, improving function, or increasing circulation. These treatments may be directions from a physician as to the type of massage treatment to be given their patients. The therapist may use a variety of procedures and techniques, and usually focuses the treatment on the areas of the body described in the prescription. The treatment may take place over the course of several sessions.

Pre/Postnatal Massage

Prenatal Massage
A woman who is getting ready to give birth can deal with many issues:
Muscle tension, swelling, pain in the body, emotional stress (leading to insomnia), irritation, sense of anxiety
A prenatal massage for pregnant women can work wonders. It may help to:
Relax muscles
Improve blood circulation
Relieve pain and stress
Increase the elasticity of the skin
Prevent the appearance of stretch marks
Prevent the development of varicose veins
Postpartum Massage
Pregnancy and childbirth are natural processes for women. However, both take a lot of energy and are associated with hormonal and cardinal changes in the body. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to get in shape quickly after the birth of a child. An important part of this process is looking after the mother’s well-being and emotional comfort.
Postpartum massage is an integration of effective restorative techniques that may help to:
Improve function and remove swelling of the lymphatic system
Tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall
Restore elasticity and the ability to actively contract
Relieve stress on joints and eliminate back pain
Reduce nervous irritability and prevent the development of postpartum depression
Increase the overall tone of the body
Accelerate the process of losing weight gained during pregnancy

Dynamic Cupping Massage

Promote healing of the body with this pain-free, therapeutic treatment that can improve flexibility, range of motion, and so much more. This beneficial service uses silicone cups to create suction, allowing for better circulation and easier movement of the muscle. Pulling action used during the session helps to promote deep relaxation throughout the entire body.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu relies on the use the fingers, thumbs and palm to apply pressure to different areas of the body’s surface. Shiatsu may help regulate the automatic nervous system activity and may help stimulate the circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems. Poor posture, joint problems, sprains, arthritis, sciatica, acute and chronic neck and back pain, sinusitis, and bronchitis may be helped with Shiatsu massage.

Active Stretching

A stretching session here at ASK is a comprehensive system that includes stretching, fascial remodeling, strengthening, neural re-patterning, and relaxation. The goals are grace and ease, and this is experienced as enhanced awareness and elegance in movement.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a type of massage that can alleviate pain occurring in certain parts of the body, which can be caused by too much physical activity. This type of massage was originally developed to serve athletes as a way to prevent and relieve injuries. However, both athletes and non-athletes can gain physiological and psychological benefits from receiving sports massage therapy.
